Here are my aboriginal creations.

  1. The bottome Aboriginal Art piece is one of my favorite journey's I've seen. It is clear that the four symbolic colors were used but they were placed specifically to create a greater bigger picture. I see a lot of different designs including the stipple, cross-hatching and symbols that were discussed as key ingredients in aboriginal art. I really like the placement of those three things because they did not look randomly placed or colored but instead placed where they would portray the most meaning. The best thing about this art piece is that is does not look like a typical journey at first glance. But the placement of the designs suggest that there is more meaning, and then upon further reflection, one can see that it is a journey and the symbolism. i didn't really understand the journey because it is not one that i have taken, but with the explanation in class, it made a lot more sense. Some may see this as a bad thing, but I see it as a good thing. The more mystery there is the better becuase it encourages me, the onlooker, to thing deeper about the piece and get my own meaning from it. It is very well laid out with color and design and I think it shows how creative you, the artist, really are.
